Ricar's quick display of his power had blinded the beasts, and the warriors, knowing this might be their opportunity to get out of a tough situation, took it and all ran deeper into the jungle. It was sporadic; although mainly warriors from the same clan ran with each other, many were just running into the forest with those closest to them.
The groups were mostly made up of tens or so, some with even fewer people. On top of that, the startling flash of light didn't last long.
As the monkeys were getting their bearings, they started to run towards the groups that had run into the jungle.
