The assassins were strong and agile, far faster than ordinary people. Had they not been concerned about alerting other guards by fighting near the mountain pass, the two assassins would have already overtaken Tang Fei if they had run at full speed.
Now that they were quite a distance from the mountain pass, and since Tang Fei had already spotted them, they decided to quickly finish the job and return with Tang Fei's head to report back, rather than freezing in this desolate wilderness. As they ran around a bend in the mountains, they saw Tang Fei again.
Tang Fei was running swiftly through the snow, glancing back as he ran. Upon seeing them, Tang Fei increased his speed even further.
