The living conditions in the dormitories were indeed not very good; there were no beds or blankets, and the refugees had to sleep on straw on the ground.

However, the vast majority of refugees accepted it and were grateful, because although there were no beds or blankets in the dormitories, there was a stove, so it wasn't cold; it was warmer than their houses back home.
