After the magistrate departed, a bodyguard asked, "Platoon leader, why did you agree to his surrender? What if he secretly escaped?"
"So what if he ran away? We weren't planning on stopping him anyway!" the platoon leader said.
"If he hadn't run away, but had actually sealed the city gates and distributed porridge to the people, wouldn't that have been even better?"
