Family members know their own affairs. The Tibetans believed that everyone on board was a skilled warrior, but Princess Jiu knew very well that nine-tenths of them were ordinary people pretending to be something they weren't.
There were only a thousand actual warriors, and Da Zhuang had taken half of them away. In case of an attack, someone would have to remain on each ship to operate the heavy crossbows and catapults, and also to prevent any spies among the commoners.
Only the initial three hundred people were truly capable of fighting on land.
