The sky was just beginning to lighten. Thousands of soldiers from the Great Kang army were lined up, marching out of Ba'er Mountain and heading east along the official road.
Leading the way was the Iron Tiger Regiment, with over a hundred heavily armored guards on either side of the formation. However, these guards were all mounted on horseback.
Meng Tianhai felt deeply grateful to the guards and knew that wearing heavy armor for such a long journey would be exhausting. He gathered all but a few of the Great Kang army's horses - over a hundred in total - and gave them to the guard detachment, including his own warhorse.
