Below the steep slope of Day mang, Tibetan soldiers had already charged to the front lines of General Wei Sheng's fortifications. There was no declaration of war, no taunting or insults exchanged.
The Tibetan soldiers immediately launched an assault on the fortifications at the base of Day mang.
These "fortifications" were simply a series of trenches dug into the ground, with piles of earth placed along the edges to serve as makeshift walls. Due to limited time, the trenches weren't very deep, and the earthworks weren't particularly high. Fortunately, General Wei Sheng's troops were not inexperienced recruits; although their combat effectiveness was inferior to the Iron Tiger Battalion and the Black Armor Squad, they did not break ranks and flee.
