About twenty miles outside the capital city, there stood a secluded old estate. It had originally belonged to a landlord.

Several years ago, while intoxicated, the landlord insulted a young woman from one of the tenant families. Afterward, he attempted to shift the blame, claiming that the woman had broken into his house and stolen something.

Unable to bear the shame, the woman drowned herself in the river. Her father and brother, consumed by rage, ambushed and killed the landlord and his entire family.
