High in the sky, the eagle perched beside the gondola, looking down. Confirming the hot air balloons had all reached their designated positions, the eagle raised his hand and fired a whistling arrow.
Behind him, three (bodyguards/escorts) exchanged a knowing smile, retrieved pre-prepared grenades and oil jars, lit the fuses with oil lamps, and threw them down.
Their target was to bombard Yelü Shi at the commander's flag position. However, the hot air balloons were flying too high; both the grenades and oil jars veered off course upon impact.
