As there was still some time before nightfall, Jin Feng led Wei Datong and others to climb Yulei Mountain, overlooking the Jinma River to the west. At that moment, a narrow, elongated island had appeared in the middle of the Jinma River.
This island was called Fen Shui Yuzui (the Dividing Water Fish Mouth).
Fen Shui Yuzui divided the Jinma River into two branches: the eastern branch, known as Nei Jiang (Inner River), and the western branch, known as Wai Jiang (Outer River). When the water level was low, the river water would primarily flow into Nei Jiang, passing through the Baopingkou (Bottle Mouth) and through Yulei Mountain via canals, irrigating the Chengdu Plain.
