The deck across was filled with sleeping guards, but the commotion caused by Liu and the pirates elicited no reaction from them; it was clear they had all been drugged. Both ships had been modified by the guards, equipped not only with catapults and heavy crossbows, but also three hot air balloons and several crates of grenades on each vessel.
If these fell into the hands of the pirates, the consequences would be unimaginable. Therefore, Liu had already made a decision in his mind: if absolutely necessary, he would sink the other merchant ship.
