The horses pulling the carriage were tied with copper bells, which jingled and attracted the attention of the servants of the manor.
"It's Miss Mary Ruth." The housekeeper immediately stepped forward to greet her and performed impeccable etiquette at the carriage door: "Welcome to the distinguished Miss Mary Ruth."
