Out of the over 600 people under Pryce's command, approximately 70 were essentially conscripted, and another 100 had received little to no formal training; they were practically a "suicide squad" bought with money.
It's not entirely accurate to call them a suicide squad, as they weren't intended for suicidal charges. In fact, when Pryce recruited them, he didn't explicitly tell them they were going to their deaths.
He recruited laborers, stable hands, baggage carriers, and other support personnel – people with no real combat capabilities.
