He tossed the chalk into the slot beneath the blackboard, brushed the chalk dust off his hands, and said, "So, digging trenches became a reasonable way... What is a trench? A trench is essentially a series of connected pits."
As he spoke, he picked up a teaching aid that had been carved from wood. It featured small wooden figures, which looked quite lifelike.
Pryce walked down from the podium, holding the teaching aid. He placed it in front of the students so they could examine it more closely: "Soldiers can hide within these trenches, minimizing their exposure to enemy fire and increasing their chances of survival."
