Adding armor to cars was almost a given, as the nature of warfare had changed. Frontline troops desperately needed a powerful weapon that could accompany them in attack and provide cover.

With the acceleration of the war, cavalry began to return to military units on a large scale because they were the easiest to obtain and could move quickly over short distances.

However, modern cavalry was more like dragoons; they fought dismounted using rifles, only resorting to traditional mounted tactics when needing high-speed maneuverability or to break through enemy lines.
