If it was alone, Jack would have taken it on. The last time he fought with a special elite monster, the Ice Troll Sentinel.
It was a whole ten levels higher than him, with the addition that the monster received buff due to the cold environment, while he received debuff from the cold. Now the special elite in front of him was only four levels higher, and it was not considered as a boss, and also without any apparent buff from its environment.
