Jaen's face turned serious as he continued.
"Listen, the entire reason why I wanted to become the overlord in the first place was because I wanted a way to spread the [Mortal Severance] pills across the sixth domain without having to worry about our work being exploited. I needed the power to protect my academy from anyone who would want to take it from me. But I realised now that my approach was wrong.
Even if I had gained the seat of the overlord, I would've only been delaying the inevitable. I'm afraid there is something coming for us, Jason.
