Over the next two days, Danzhu ordered Tibetan infantry to drive the people of Dakang towards the city walls. Although they failed to cross the moat each time, they consumed a significant amount of crossbow bolts and stones within the city.
On the third day of the siege, the Tibetans discovered that some of the catapults were not only launching stones but also bricks. It was clear that the city's supply of stones was running low, and they had started dismantling buildings.
The Tibetan commanders were thrilled by this discovery. However, Danzhu remained impassive, as he suspected that Qinxing Yao might be using a trick.
