Shay had planned to fight on her own, because for the longest time she had always been on her own. Even when the Noctis Clan were being chased, and she lost members one by one she was on her own.
Even when joining Alter she had done so as a Deleter away from the others, not saying a word or getting friendly with any of the members. The majority of those in Alter were different as well, joining due to them being from different worlds, but she didn't have that similarity with them.
Now she was fighting by the side of the Dark Magus, the similarity they shared, was that they used the same set of skills and techniques as each other, and if anything she was forced to be convinced to fight by his side. Now, with the target that had started it all, she had focused to take down Heino.
